Anxiety and chronic stress are fundamentally Vata-Pitta disorders in Ayurveda — excess Vata disturbing the Manas (mind) and Pitta generating heat and reactive thoughts. The Manovaha Srotas (mind channels) become vitiated, leading to racing thoughts, physical tension, disturbed sleep, and emotional reactivity. Ayurveda’s Manas Chikitsa (mind treatment) is profoundly effective for both acute and chronic anxiety.

Overview

Anxiety disorders affect over 44 million Indians and are the most undertreated mental health condition. How It Works

Shirodhara is the centrepiece of Ayurvedic anxiety treatment. The rhythmic, warm oil stream on the forehead creates a direct neurological calming effect — reducing cortisol, calming the amygdala response, and shifting the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic overdrive to parasympathetic rest. This is systematically supported by Nasya and Medhya Rasayana.
